Second wave may be peaking
There are some hopeful signs the second wave may be reaching the peak.
The total number of cases fell last week compared to the week before. In the past 7 days, over 51,000 tested positive – down 8% on the previous week.
The decline was seen across the country, including in the worst hit canton, Geneva.
The number of people being treated in the Geneva University Hospital is also down slightly, nearly 3%.
But authorities are not letting up. Geneva health minister, Mauro Poggia says they are considering making working from home compulsory – but he does hope the shops will be open in the run up to Christmas.
