We're still throwing away too much food
We’re still throwing away far too much food. A survey by the Geneva waste management service shows a fifth of what ends up in household bins is food – and nearly 40% of that is edible.
Experts recommend going to the shops more frequently which allows for better meal planning and cooking vegetables which are slightly damaged.
Uneaten food also lowers the temperature of waste incinerators, cutting down the amount of heat that can be reused.
