Geneva public workers threaten pay strikes
Public workers in Geneva are threatening to strike later this month unless the government ditches plans to cut civil service salaries next year.
Unions say the government is placing all the costs relating to the pandemic on workers and claim tax reform is benefitting private companies.
Workers could trigger a half day strike next week and then a full day with demonstrations on the 15th of this month.
Next year’s cantonal budget shows a shortfall of CHF 49.3m.
