Parents with children in a school in Lausanne are outraged after a mountain camp went ahead and now 15 students have tested positive for covid-19.

From comments from those on the camp say hygiene measures were impossible to keep. At times there was more than one to a bed, others slept in a large room with mattresses on the floor and had to share water bottles.

All the students were aged around 15 and 16 years old.

One mother of a girl who tested positive called the school’s decision to go ahead with the camp ‘irresponsible’.

Meanwhile, all the students at the prestigious Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne are in quarantine until the end of the month following an outbreak.

The virus seems to have started at a party on September 15th which was billed as the last one before lockdown.

It affects around 2,500 people. Those on the campus have to stay in their accommodation – those who hadn’t arrived have to stay at home.
