Geneva cyclists face fines
Geneva cyclists are being targeted by police on a crackdown on rule breaking.
Police say their aim is not to issue as many fines as possible - but to prevent accidents.
One hotspot is the roadworks on the Quai du Mont-Blanc. Despite signs telling cyclists to dismount, many don’t - and then face a CHF 30 fine.
One officer told the Tribune de Genève that people see the signs every day, so they get used to them and ignore them.
Also, several fines were handed out for running red lights. That’s a CHF 60 fine.
