Campaign launched to help legalise undocumented domestic staff
A campaign has been launched in French speaking parts of the country for households who use domestic help to make sure they’re legal.
The new group Chèques-emploi, is linking working rights groups across the region to highlight the difficulties illegal workers face.
More than 1,000 door hanging signs have been put up calling for all domestic staff to be properly registered.
Campaigners point out it was three months ago that queues of illegal workers in Geneva waiting for food shocked the world, drawing attention to the precariousness of undocumented staff.
