Geneva plans CHF 20m spend on new cycle lanes
Canton Geneva is planning to spend a further CHF 20m on new bicycle lanes. It’s being described as "ambitious" by the State Councilor, Serge Dal Busco.
In addition to new lanes – which will be a combination of paths, new road markings and mixed sidewalks – the canton will also look to make tram lines safer for cyclists.
But e-bikers should be aware – some of the lanes will be closed to the fastest electric two-wheelers. They will have to use the roads at times.
Cycling has been booming since the start of the coronavirus.
