Vaud to focus on environment as children head back to school
The rest of the country’s schools start again on Monday – meaning staff and children will have to get used to new rules – but the kids won’t need to wear a mask in class and teachers will only have to if the social distancing measures can’t be maintained.
But canton Vaud also has its focus on the environment. It says it will no longer arrange school trips which involve planes and teachers will be trained on sustainability.
The canton says for the next school year there will only be trips within Switzerland – and for the following year there will only be trips abroad which can be reached with green transport.
It’s hoped by the year 2025, all teachers in the canton will integrate sustainability into lessons.
