Cantonal check-ups on companies' Covid-19 protective measures sporadic
Research by yesterday’s SonntagsBlick shows anti-Covid-19 measures are only being sporadically carried out by the cantons, despite instructions from the federal government.
The cantons are supposed to check companies are following the rules, such as social distancing, mask wearing and sanitizer use.
Figures from last month show only 4 cantons carried out more than 100 checks – and some didn’t even report back to Bern.
The most active was Bern, which checked 556 companies, and Zurich with 472 checks.
But Geneva, which is a virus hotspot, only carried out 31 in the same week. It has, however, has become more active since.
Some cantons are blaming the summer holidays, claiming many companies are closed for the season.
