Fire in Lausanne train station caused by dropped battery
A small fire broke out at the main train station in Lausanne after a man dropped his backpack, which contained a battery for an electric scooter.
Vaud police say the shock of the fall damaged the power unit and it ignited.
The flames were put out by extinguishers, and then the battery was cooled by firefighters by immersing in a bucket of water. They say it reached a temperature of 350 degrees.
The battery’s owner was slightly injured.
