Overnight fire in Geneva causes 50 to flee
A large fire in Geneva overnight caused 50 people to flee their homes in the Contamines region of the city.
The Geneva fire department says several motorcycles and an electric car caught fire at 12.30 this morning under the apartment building on rue Michel-Chauvet.
14 people were treated for smoke-inhalation and two have been hospitalized.
Firefighters broke into 15 apartments to make sure no one was left in the building.
A team of 35 firefighters and 10 fire engines battled the flames for several hours.
Some residents have now been allowed back home after spending the night on the street.
An investigation is already underway.
