Museum puzzled over stolen maid's uniform
Staff at a museum in canton Bern are scratching their heads after a thief stole a 100-year-old maid’s uniform.
The dress was on a mannikin as part of a display at the castle museum in Jegenstorf.
The museum director, Murielle Schlup, is perplexed. She says the uniform is not particularly valuable – but was very pretty. It also has an emotional value to the staff.
But it’s not the first theft. Also, a milk jug and candlestick have gone missing in recent weeks. Staff wonder if they’re connected.
The police are investigating and the museum may install cameras.
