Study concludes good relations with EU essential for Swiss prosperity
The free movement of people between Switzerland and the EU is highly beneficial to the Swiss economy and allows the country to keep pace with the rest of the world.
That’s the conclusion of a study by the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs.
The study also stresses good and stable relations with the EU is essential for Switzerland’s prosperity and the vast majority of those moving into the country from the EU are gainfully employed and their productivity is higher than the national average.
Voters will decide whether to keep the free movement agreement with the EU in September.
