Growing calls for mandatory mask wearing as infection rate rises
There are growing calls to make mask wearing on public transport compulsory as the infection rate starts to rise again.
The Federal Health Office says 62 people tested positive in the last 24 hours. While slightly down from 69 the previous day, it doesn’t detract from a steady upward climb over the last couple of weeks.
Experts say the trend is worrying.
The head of the conference of cantonal health directors says public transport passengers should be forced to wear a mask. Lukas Engelberger stresses there should not be any more wasted time.
