Study predicts steep drop in foreign investment in Switzerland
A study by the financial consulting firm EY is predicting a steep drop in foreign investment in Switzerland this year.
The biggest loss is expected to come from US investors – after a recently positive 2019.
Last year American firms invested more in Switzerland than Germany. But the long-term trend is down, according to the study.
It shows other European countries are also becoming reluctant to invest here.
The study highlights the issues some companies see with investing in Switzerland – including tax uncertainties, high wages, cost of living and several languages.
