Almost half of all food trucks fail health inspection
Nearly half of all food trucks last summer failed cantonal health checks.
This time last year more than 600 inspections were carried out and only 54% passed.
The rest had serious shortcomings according to the report. There was insufficient hand washing, poor storage facilities and inadequate controls of potentially dangerous allergens.
Cantonal chemists say the non-compliance rates are too high and those which fell short were ordered to make changes.
