TGV trains between France and Switzerland ramp up
Fast train services between Switzerland and France are being ramped up.
TGV trains stopped running completely at the end of March – some trains have been running since Monday.
But in a reaction to growing ticket sales, there’ll be six return trips to Paris a day from French speaking areas and 4 from Zurich.
The daily service to Marseilles will also restart from the beginning of next month.
Before the coronavirus outbreak, strong demand for train services prompted a new double decker TGV train to be introduced boosting capacity by 30%.
More flights are also being offered from Switzerland. Swiss International Airlines are adding in the extra security of promising to repatriate all passengers on European flights within 48 hours if lockdown is reintroduced at the destination.
