Twint money app finds first security flaw after 100 million transactions
A security flaw has been discovered with the money transfer app Twint.
A woman wanted to transfer over CHF 1,000 to her business partner and used the app – as she has done many times before.
But the recipient got a new phone number a few months ago – that number had been previously allocated to someone else. They received the money.
Twint says it had never had that problem before after more than 100 million transactions for 2.5 million people.
From now on, whenever a number changes hands, all Twint data will be deleted. The woman got her money back.
