'Money not a problem' for vaccines for all Swiss residents
The government is ready to make sure everyone in Switzerland will have access to a Covid-19 vaccine when one becomes available. The Health Minister, Alain Berset, says ‘it’s not a question of money’.
CHF 300m has been earmarked for purchasing enough doses for everyone and the government says it’s in talks with several pharmaceutical companies – there are more than 100 projects worldwide seeking a vaccine.
Daniel Koch from the Swiss Federal Health Office says although Switzerland is looking to secure its own supply, it will also work internationally to make sure all countries get fair access.
