Hopes for more lockdown easing after infection numbers continue falling
There are hopes Switzerland remains on track for further lessening of the lockdown restrictions after the number of people infected fell again and no new deaths were reported in the last 24 hours.
The latest figures from the Federal Health Office show only 10 new infections and no deaths.
The good weather over the weekend saw crowded terraces and many taking a walk along popular promenades – but no police force across the country reported any serious violations of the current laws.
The Federal Council’s three stage plan remains on track. We’re currently in the second phase after shops, restaurants and schools reopened – the third stage should see higher educational establishments open and further leisure activities permitted. That’s due on June 8th, but a final decision won’t be made until May 27th.
