Coronavirus tracking app being tested by soldiers in Vaud
A new app designed to track if users have come into contact with an infected person is being tested by soldiers in Vaud.
One hundred recruits have downloaded a test version of the app which will be monitored by the developers at the EPFL in Lausanne.
The app is designed to maintain confidentiality, it will not log location – but it will inform the user if they have recently been close to someone who’s been confirmed as suffering from the coronavirus.
It’s due to be rolled out in time for the next lockdown phase in May – but the Federal Health Office has not given a firm release date yet.
