Ticino hopes for strong summer to combat service industry losses
As Switzerland starts to look ahead to life outside the lockdown, restaurateurs and hoteliers in the worst hit canton Ticino are hoping for a strong summer.
Many are planning to bring in new rules to provide more social distancing spaces by cutting the number of tables available.
Serving staff could wear face masks and gloves to cut the chance of spreading the virus.
Restaurant associations in the canton say 1 in 10 face bankruptcy unless they can start trading soon.
The summer will help, as many have outdoor eating areas which means more space between tables.
