The tourism industry looks set to be hit hard by the coronavirus crisis - and over a long period of time.

 A tourism professor from the University of St Gallen predicts several companies and businesses in the industry will have to file for bankruptcy.  

Christian Laesser doesn’t expect intercontinental travel to properly start up again until 2021 but that internal tourism might provide some relief. 

He also expects business travel by plane to decline as many companies now realise the potential of virtual conferencing.
