Syrian refugees volunteer to help vulnerable during lockdown
A group of 18 Syrian refugees living in Switzerland has been volunteering to help vulnerable people during the lockdown.
According to the UNHCR - the UN’s Refugee Agency - the network of refugees formed to shop and run errands for the elderly and others at risk during the epidemic.
One refugee called Shadi, who came to Switzerland from Daraa, south of the Syrian capital Damascus, has said their experience of living in a crisis has made them well-placed to help others.
So far the group estimates it has shopped for 100-200 people in Geneva and Lausanne, with more and more people joining them every day.
