A 54-year-old man in canton Basel Country died yesterday. It’s the fourth death in the country, the previous victims were all over 70.

The man is thought to have picked up the virus while at a church in France. 16 other Swiss nationals have also tested positive from the same church. They’re from various parts of the country.

The government says it will no longer refer to ‘infected areas’ as the virus is now in almost all parts of the world.

It says those over 65 are most at risk – but others with high blood pressure, diabetes, heart problems, existing breathing issues and cancer are also at risk.
