Covid-19: Geneva local elections votes to be counted in private
The virus outbreak will mean votes in Geneva will be counted in private.
Geneva voters are going to the polls in local elections on Sunday March 15th.
Normally, counts can be watched by the public. But the canton has decided only those involved will be allowed into one hall at the Uni Mail building.
Even the media will be banned.
There will be 1,700 counters involved.
The restrictions are only for this vote. A second round scheduled on April 5th will not be affected – so far.
