The world-famous Basel-Fasnacht has been cancelled – but there are hopes it can be rescheduled.
The carnival can’t go ahead due to the government’s ban on gatherings of more than 1,000 people.
But a petition has been launched to find another date. So far more than 5,000 have signed.
It’s not the first time a virus as stopped the show. 100 years ago, the Spanish flu outbreak also led to cancellation – but it was held later in the year.
