Retired physicist plans to prove he didn't cause accident with maths
A retired physicist in canton Zurich is planning to use mathematics to show he was not to blame for an accident.
The 77-year-old called Emil says he was charged with careless driving after a head on crash with a van near the German border in canton Schaffhausen.
The police say he was in the oncoming lane, but Emil says he was dragged backwards by the van which reversed after the collision. And he says he can prove it with maths.
Armed with pages of formulas, he plans to show the judges his car couldn’t have ended up on the other side of the road unless it had been moved after the collision.
