Vaud schools to trial gender neutral toilets
The canton of Vaud is go ahead trialing gender neutral toilets in two schools.
The high schools in Chablais and Echallens will test out the new system. If successful it will be rolled out across the canton.
The canton has not decided how exactly it will make the change. It could create a third category or more simply open all the toilets in the building to all.
The Vogay gay rights group says schools should be able to choose what’s best for them. They say a third category could lead to feelings of stigmatization and having all toilets open may cause embarrassment.
