Skiers urged not to cancel trips to Les Contamines
Locals in the French ski resort of Les Contamines are urging skiers to come for their vacations. The tourist office says there have been some cancellations since the news broke of a British family being infected by the coronavirus.
They caught the infection after a visit from a friend who had recently retuned from Singapore. He is now back in the UK and is being treated in hospital.
French authorities say the condition of the family is not serious. Even so, schools in the resort will be closed this week.
Les Contamines is near Mont-Blanc and is around 70km from Geneva and is very popular with Swiss skiers.
