Demonstrations held against homophobia and World Economic Forum
Demonstrations against homophobia were held in many cities on Saturday.
800 marched in Zurich and another 200 in Lausanne.
The action is ahead of a vote next month to extend anti-racism laws to the LGBTQ community.
While there is a clause in the Swiss constitution which bans discrimination for racial, ethnic or religious reasons – there is not for sexual orientation.
There was also another march in Lucerne against the upcoming World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.
The protestors claim those at the meeting pretend they want to make the world a better place, but are only looking to increase their wealth.
