Global Refugee Forum considered a success
The first Global Refugee Forum has ended in Geneva with delegates promising to spend nearly USD 8bn.
The programmes committed include access to employment, education and resettlement in third countries.
The UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi says the forum signals a crucial change to a longer-term approach. He says the meeting – organized by the UNHCR and Switzerland - should be considered a success.
The programmes will be assessed after two years.
