US Air Force 2 lands at Swiss military base
Speculation is rife after a US government aircraft, often dubbed as Air Force 2, landed at the Swiss military base in Payerne yesterday evening.
The plane is normally used by the Vice President or members of Congress.
US officials say the plane is part of a diplomatic mission where Switzerland offers its ‘good services’.
This country often acts as a go between and recently negotiated a prisoner swap between the US and Iran.
The mission maybe linked to the Global Refugee Forum taking place in Geneva this week.
The exact reason for the arrival is not being revealed.
