Care workers demonstrate outside Geneva Uni Hospital
Care workers have been demonstrating outside the Geneva University Hospital saying they deserve higher pay as their responsibilities have been increasing.
Care workers are not as qualified as nurses, but still need a licence. They say they’re being given more to do and are carrying out certain medical procedures.
The salary is currently around CHF 5,300 a month and is set on a rate defined by civil service pay grades.
There are about 700 in Geneva and they believe their job should be reassessed.
