Geneva finally installs automatic immigration gates
Geneva airport has installed automatic immigration gates for the first time.
Common in many other European countries for some time and in Zurich for the last two years, Geneva has finally caught up.
The gates can be used by European nationals over 18 with a biometric passport. The documents are checked and a camera scans the face to make sure the passport belongs to the right person.
Geneva airport has been suffering long queues at passport control for some time. Many will hope the new machines will make it faster.
