'Epstein didn't kill himself' billboard goes viral

National News // Dec. 6, 2019

A Swiss pharmaceutical start up advertising campaign is going viral after a billboard went up in Zurich.

The poster shows a box of an anti-hangover treatment called KAEX which has written on it ‘Epstein didn’t kill himself’.

It echoes an internet meme which inserts the phrase into several different contexts.

It refers to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein who was found dead in his prison cell. Officially he killed himself, but many believe he was murdered. Investigations are still ongoing.

Speculation on the internet is rife whether the poster is real. It is. The head of KAEX, 36-year-old Pedro Schmidt, says it’s been up since the beginning of the week. He says he’s amazed how it’s become an online sensation.
