French police shoot escaped llama
French police say they had no option other than to shoot an escaped llama.
The animal broke free from its enclosure in the village of Challex which borders Geneva in the Pays de Gex on Saturday afternoon.
It was seen wandering on a busy highway over the weekend, causing drivers to brake and swerve to avoid the animal.
The llama was considered a danger to drivers and was shot and killed by a specialist animal control officer.
