Léman Express to launch in under 2 weeks
The launch of the new rail network is less than two weeks away.
On Sunday December 15th trains for the Léman Express will start running throughout the Grand Genève region changing the way people travel around the region forever on 230 km of new lines and 45 stations.
Security is a major consideration. Pierre Lambert, head of the Haute-Savoie départment, says with the rise of passengers, there’s an increased risk of crime. The service will run 24 hours a day on weekends.
Cameras will be installed on the trains and at the stations in Switzerland and France. The two countries have just signed an agreement video footage will be shared if necessary.
