Lausanne to lower speed limit to cut noise pollution
In an effort to cut noise pollution, several roads in Lausanne will have a lower speed limit overnight.
The town council has authorized CHF 4.5m for a range of measures to make nighttime quieter.
Authorities have identified speed as the main problem, so the limit on many roads will be down at 30 kph between 10pm and 6am.
The city also wants to double the amount of roads with sound absorbing surfaces by 2026.
