Geneva votes in favour of restricting airport noise pollution
Geneva voters have decisively approved an initiative designed to cut noise pollution at the airport. In the end over 56% supported new regulations.
The State Councillor for Infrastructure, Serge Dal Busco, says there are already new regulations in place designed to limit the impact of the airport – and also points out many of the rules are set federally.
But the head of the Geneva Chamber of Commerce, Vincent Subilia, says the vote does not offer any pragmatic solutions and runs the risk of paralysing the airport.
