Former Geneva judge racks up huge debt
A former Geneva judge is currently in the dock, accused of running up thousands of francs of debt while maintaining several affairs.
Prosecutors say the 68-year-old failed to pay the interest on a villa owned by his partner – who’s incapacitated due to a stroke. The house in Versoix was sold by the bank for CHF 100,000. It was then resold for more than a million.
It’s also claimed the former judge was keeping two mistresses – paying them thousands of francs every month.
The defendant says it was never his intention to lose the house and he tried to keep up with his debts.
The trial continues.
