Drivers over 70 a danger to road safety
Drivers over 70 are some of the most dangerous people on the roads.
New figures from the Accident Prevention Office show last year there were 315 accidents which caused serious injury or death involving older drivers.
They’re also committing more driving offences. Almost 7,500 had their licences revoked or suspended last year. That’s more than double ten years ago – but that’s likely to be due to the aging population.
Drivers over 75 have to be checked by a doctor to make sure they’re still safe to be on the roads.
