Mysterious skin infection plagues Sankt Gallen school
Health authorities in canton Sankt Gallen are to step up efforts to eradicate a persistent skin infection which has been plaguing children and staff in a school for the past few months.
The infection causes boils on the skin and is proving to be resistant to antibiotics.
Back in March staff and the children were told to wash their hands and towels were banned. But it had no effect.
Now every child and staff member will have a blood test to see if there’s a carrier. Cantonal doctors point out that it’s possible someone is infected, but not showing any symptoms.
