Martin Tuchschmid says he’s not normally scared of spiders, but this one was so large it caused him to jump back and throw it off.

He says he’d never seen a spider like it – it was fat, hairy and almost as big as his hand.

The spider has been identified as a False Wolf. The animal is common around the Mediterranean, but as the climate changes it is being spotted further north.

It’s not normally dangerous to humans – but it is capable of giving a painful bite.
