Geneva airport to do more to cut night flights
Geneva airport and its major airlines says they will do more to make sure there are as few flights as possible after 10pm.
The clear hope is they can persuade voters to reject an initiative to place further restrictions on night flights.
Currently there are no scheduled flights from Geneva after 10pm – but delays mean there are planes taking off or landing after that time – on average 29 a day.
The airport, with EasyJet and Swiss, say they will make more of an effort to cut night flights.
The Geneva government is urging voters to reject the upcoming initiative which will place strict legal noise limits on the airport.
