Women sentenced to jail for protesting climate change
Two women protesting climate change over the summer have been sentenced to 80 days in jail by a Zurich court.
Several other protestors have been fined and ordered to pay court costs.
The two jailed women, aged 54 and 48, are members of the German branch of Greenpeace.
They were convicted of trespassing after blocking the entrance to a bank in July. The protestors say banks are part of the climate crises as they support to the fossil fuel industry.
The two women also have to pay more than CHF 3,000 in court costs.
