Bern police prepare for major match at Stade de Suisse
The Bern cantonal police force is closing several police stations on Thursday as the force prepares for a major football match at the Stade de Suisse.
The local club Young Boys is to meet Feyenoord Rotterdam. The Dutch fans have a violent reputation.
It’s expected several hundred fans will travel from the Netherlands for the Europa League game – many of them won’t have a ticket.
To make sure as many officers as possible are available on the streets, the police chief Stefan Blättler, has decided to close police stations around the canton. Although major towns will have at least one open.
