Geneva police force interpreter to walk 2km home in dark
Geneva police are apologizing to an interpreter who works for them after dropping the woman off at the border and forcing her to walk 2km home in the dark.
Police asked for her help on Wednesday evening during an interview. Two officers were then asked to take her home. They stopped at the French border, telling the woman they weren’t allowed to cross. She then had to walk to her home in Saint-Julien-en-Genevois.
A police spokesman says the officers made a mistake and a quick radio call to the police coordination office would have allowed the Geneva police car to enter France.
