New 100 franc note causes problems with ATMs
The new 100 franc note which is now available across the country is causing problems with certain cash machines.
The ATMs affected are mainly owned by the Post Office.
The company admits there is a problem. A spokesman says sometimes the notes stick together, jamming the machine.
The Swiss National Bank say the notes were tested thoroughly in cash machines before the note was released. Although the bank points out not all types of machine were used and some may have to be adjusted.
The Post Office is reassuring its customers. If the machine does not dispense the cash – accounts will not be debited.
