Grand Theatre water damaged after years of renovation
The newly renovated Grand Theatre in Geneva suffered significant damage after the sprinkler system went off two mornings last week.
The theatre says it’s a technical fault – it wasn’t triggered by a person.
The system can unleash 1,000 litres of water a minute.
The stage was flooded and the orchestra pit filled with water.
The theatre opened in February after years of renovation work. The damage shouldn’t affect the theatre’s autumn schedule.
